Dancing Princess

Ok, I just wanted to share my daughters dance christmas party. All the parents were invited to come in the class early to see what they have been working on. The girls were so excited and had so much fun. After they shared their dance with us, they exchanged gifts and had some yummy snacks.

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Ok, so the tree is decorated, the lights and decorations are up outside and I've almost finished putting up the decorations inside. Whew!!! The kids have decorated their mini gingerbread houses and they can't wait to dig in. I was hoping to wait at least until tomorrow, but my son has already started on his. They had a blast making them and I only helped in the beginning. They completely took over once they saw how messy I was getting and wanted to join in the fun. Of course, licking their fingers and eating the candy is some of the best parts of building gingerbread houses. I noticed my son taking the icing bag and emptying it into his mouth. I guess he figured it was less messy and much quicker to just get it in there that way.

Okay, so part of getting into the season for me is shopping Black Friday. I make a point to always go shopping early in the morning to find the best deals. There are so many who don't take advantage of this, but I have saved so much money by shopping the early hours and to me that is exciting. This year I had a list of items and was so prepared. I knew what store opened at what time and what item I was needing from each store. I did occasionally find the deal I didn't think I would find which makes a long morning more rewarding. My husband decided to go with me this year and he is not a fan of shopping, but he held his own and actually got into it. I think he might be my new Black Friday shopping buddy. Yeah!!!!

A Rested Holiday

This year we went to my husband's Dad's for Thanksgiving. A first for all of us and it was very nice and relaxing. We had a great time visiting and catching up on all the latest news. My kids played with their cousins they don't see that often and, of course, is one of their favorite things about going to Papa's. The food was great and we all were very full afterward. Then there was the Cowboy game that none of us were going to miss. It wasn't an exciting game, but the Cowboys won Yeah!!!!, so the guys decided to go out and play a game of their own. Of course, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a traditional football game in the street. The younger boys were so excited since they are usually on the sidelines, but this year without them there wouldn't be much of a game to play.

Among all these boys we are lucky enough to have two cute little girls who are always excited to see each other(they can finally play babydolls!). They love their time together and cherish it as long as they can.

Train Ride

Today we went on a train ride with some of our friends. It was one of the boys birthday and being the boys they are they all love trains. This was a Steam Engine Train in Grapevine. It was built is 1896. It was a great ride taking us from Grapevine into Fort Worth Stockyards. It was about an hour and half ride and it was great. I, myself, have never been on a train ride so this was as exciting for me as it was the kids. Once we arrived in the Stockyards we all headed down to Risky's BBQ and had some great food. From there the kids found a maze they wanted to go through so we got them set up with that and they all enjoyed that very much. It was a little difficult and Ashlyn came out crying because she thought she was lost. She got over that real soon. We only had time to shop in a couple of stores before the train came back to pick us up. Once on the train again, we had almost a whole cart to ourselves since we were the "birthday party". It was great, but the boys discovered how to open the windows. We didn't feel real comfortable about that because there were no screens on them for safety measures. And you know boys, they wanted to stick their heads and hands out as much as possible. We shut the windows and they, of course, found something else to entertain themselves. I actually looking forward to going back for the Polar Express. How exciting is that!!!

First Timer!!

Well, I've decided to join the Blog scene. I've been thinking about it for sometime, but finally decided I would love to share our home and experiences with everyone else. To start off I am a stay at home mom with two children. My husband, Thomas, and I have been married for 13 years. It sometimes seems so much longer. LOL!! Anyway, along with staying at home, I'm also homeschooling my son. He is a third grader and this is our 2nd year. We both love it, but sometimes he loves the home part more than the school part. He is very proud to be a homeschooler and I have heard him tell people with no problem that he is homeschooled. My daughter is 5 and in Kindergarten. She attends a private school here in Mesquite. I will also start homeschooling her when she is in 2nd grade.
